about me
lICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER AND LICENSED ADDICTION COUNSELOR
Serving clients in the Fargo-Moorhead area in-person and across both states via telehealth.
As the owner of Rooted Counseling, I am actively involved in advocacy and consulting roles with various committee memberships for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, providing recommendations on program needs and policy changes. Victoria also reviews grants for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and conducts case reviews for the American Society of Addiction Medicine. With over 12 years of experience in state and county outpatient settings, I dedicated her career to addressing both mental health and substance use issues.
Educationally, I earned her Master’s in Addiction Counseling from Winona State University in 2018 and her Master’s in Social Work from Boise State University in 2021.
Outside of my professional life, I am a dedicated wife and mother to a 12-year-old and a 4-year-old. I enjoy summer weekends on the lake, winter weekends skiing with my son, attending their sporting events, making time for concerts and engulfing life to/for my children.
Growing up in a small town in Minnesota with a single mother and four sisters, I experienced firsthand the impact of mental health struggles and substance abuse, especially following my father's suicide. These experiences shaped my dreams and goals, leading me to become a social worker and addiction counselor.
My personal journey through trauma and hardship informs my practice, and I am committed to offering the same compassionate care I would want for my own family and friends. I believe that life’s challenges present opportunities for self-discovery and positive change. Striving to provide a supportive, accepting, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood, walking alongside them on their path to healing with a person-centered approach toward their mental health and/or substance use goals.
